Sofia is deeply dedicated to making the world a better place for both people and the planet. Her empathy and “developer” mindset means she listens well, then puts good ideas into action. She is also a true people-person—passionate about seeing people and communities grow to their fullest potential.
In her three years at Blue Garnet as a Senior Analyst, Sofia led data analysis and created evaluation reports, designed change management conversations, conducted primary and secondary research, and helped coach nonprofit and philanthropy teams. She also spearheaded our marketing efforts, played a supporting role in business development, and streamlined several internal operations.
Since 2021, Sofia has served as our part-time Marketing & Communications Specialist. Taking her consulting skills globally, Sofia is tuning in from the Middle East, where she is working with grassroots nonprofits in refugee communities.
Before Blue Garnet, Sofia graduated Summa Cum Laude from UCLA in December 2017 with a B.A. in International Development and a focus on Global Health. She has nonprofit experience from across Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Uganda, Ecuador, and the Middle East. Sofia loves learning about different cultures through travel and conversation, stemming from her 14 years of growing up abroad. She enjoys baking, exercising, hanging with friends, and spending every possible moment outdoors!

What’s your “why”?
I believe things are not the way they’re meant to be. And we get to be part of bringing renewal and restoration on this earth—to people, communities, and the planet. I am inspired to work in social impact because I want to use my time, talent, and treasure to help bring about that renewal.
