Growing up near the US-Mexico border, Giancarlo witnessed firsthand the many barriers low-income, first-generation immigrant communities face. These challenges inspired him to want to make resources more accessible and less complex. His mother taught him the importance of giving and paying it forward, driving him to use his skills and experiences to create better opportunities for those in need. Giancarlo honors his mother’s legacy with every step, working to uplift others and build a brighter, more inclusive future.
Before joining Blue Garnet, Giancarlo had various analytical roles within the financial and social services sectors. Eager to find lasting solutions, he emphasizes practicality and effectiveness in his work. As a Data Management Intern at a nonprofit community care center providing medical services to low-income families, he learned the importance of coordinating logistics and aligning program efforts with the organization’s mission for impact, all while maintaining financial stability. At an internship with a major financial services firm, Giancarlo honed his empathy and client relationship skills by identifying client pain points related to software implementation and organizational behavior. By listening to users’ experiences and valuing diverse perspectives, he ensures that the solutions provided are practical and empowering for the communities served.
Giancarlo graduated from the University of Southern California in May 2024 with a B.A. in Social Sciences with an emphasis in Psychology and a minor in Management Consulting. His studies explored how various social science disciplines offer frameworks for understanding our complex world. He chose a minor in Management Consulting to combine his critical thinking skills and analytical experience, aiming to drive innovation for positive impact in Southern California and beyond. Focused on finding the best ways to serve others, consulting proved to be the best match, allowing him to use his problem-solving skills to address complex barriers and positively impact his community. He is committed to doing the work needed to create a happy, healthy world.
In his free time, Giancarlo loves camping, backpacking, and cooking. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed leading outdoor backpacking and camping trips during college to Big Sur, Ojai, and The Sequoias. His favorite piece in Monopoly is the Scottish Terrier, but if unavailable, he opts for the boot.
