A storyteller with a passion for social change, Rebecca graduated from Swarthmore College in May 2020 with a special major in Education, Race, & Media Studies. Her perspective is shaped by her experiences growing up as a woman of color and the daughter of immigrants, as well as her passion for accessible education. As an LA native, she is eager to make a positive impact on her community and encourage empathy within others. In 2017, she received a grant from Swarthmore to launch a digital media intensive for low-income high school students to learn storytelling for social change. She leverages her experience running Storyboard, her education on systemic racism, and her identity as a woman of color to understand the challenges people face and fight for societal progress. Currently, she is pursuing a Master of Science in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at USC Marshall School of Business. She aims to fight for peoples’ rights to housing, food, and education.
